GHANA TECH LAB HAS STARTED ITS TRAINING ON DATA SCIENCE TODAY.

Ghana Tech Lab is an open collaborative space for competent Digital skills training, seeding innovations, and growing startups.

As part of their training today the trainees were given an overview of function in python on Data Science. The trainees later got to try their abilities on the functions learned on their own with the help of the examples they have been taking through within the course of the training.
However, participants had the space to experiment and come up with creative ways to use functions to solve problems. The machine learning class as a different class was also able to do some analysis on the dataset and also be able to answer business questions using pandas the cloud computing class, on the other hand, was also introduced to SQL with the help of MySQL. This enabled them to learn numerous commands such as the select and insert commands.
Also, another class that was basically into Data analytics and visualization was tasked to analyze a dataset containing a list of failed banks within the United States over the last 20 years using Microsoft BI. The Microsoft BI helped them to create a report using the metrics. ‘
The trainees, with the aid of the Microsoft BI, were able to count failed banks in a month, Total Filed Banks by State and Year, Total Failed banks by city and year, and also a map displaying city and banks name. Participants exhited simple ideas and turned them into big startups with the goal of becoming the platform for digital innovations in Africa and beyond. Ghana tech lab has unique programs and curriculum designed to make ideas a product or solution that addresses a societal situation.
