The IoT Network Hub is inviting all tech Enthusiasts to join them as they host an interesting session on “The Internet of Things, The Fourth Industrial Revolution and The Future of Jobs” at the Ghana Digital Innovation Week.
The 21st century ushered in a new era following the debut of the internet and Web 2.0 applications. Today, most people have interacted with search engines such as Google and social media platforms, including Facebook and Twitter. While the internet was a hallmark debut, more technological innovations have come up, marking the fourth industrial revolution (4IR).
This new line of technologies features the likes of Artificial Intelligence (AI), blockchain, and the Internet of Things (IoT). Despite their value proposition, there have been arguments that some of these technologies might soon replace most human roles in today’s industries.
A recent study released by McKinsey Global Institute reports that roughly one-fifth of the global workforce will be impacted by the adoption of AI and automation, with the most significant impact in developed nations like the UK, Germany and US.
By 2022, 50% of companies believe that automation will decrease their numbers of full-time staff and by 2030, robots will replace 800 million workers across the world.

The Ghana Digital Innovation Week(GDIW) is convened by His Excellency the Vice President of Ghana, committee, and other key ecosystem actors and enablers.
The committee comprises the Ministry of Communications and Digitalization, Ministry of The
Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation (MESTI) and Ministry of Trade
and Industry (MITI), Accra Digital Center (ADC), the National Entrepreneurship and
Innovation Programme (NEIP), Ghana Chamber of Technology as private sector
representatives, and Ashesi University College and the University of Ghana as Academia representatives.
The GDIW provides a platform to:
Celebrate the accomplishments
of Ghana’s digital innovation ecosystem.
Build momentum towards a common vision for its future development.
Mobilize diverse stakeholders towards collaborative and inclusive ecosystem growth.
GDIW emanates from Trilateral Cooperation between Ghana,
Germany and Israel on innovation and development to promote government level awareness
for digital innovation while also adding impetus to the growth of the digital innovation
ecosystem in Ghana.
