Ghana Startup Week 2023: Igniting Youthful Innovations for Economic Growth
Startups and young entrepreneurs, mark your calendars! Ghana Startup Week 2023 is just around the corner, set to unfold from the 13th to the 15th of December at the Accra Digital Center. This annual event, organized by the Association of Ghana Startups (AGS) in collaboration with the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), promises a dynamic platform to celebrate, recognize, and foster the vibrant entrepreneurial spirit driving Ghana’s future prosperity.
Event Highlights:
The theme for this year’s Startup Week is “Youthful Startup Innovations; Fuelling Ghana’s Future Prosperity,” aligning with Sustainable Development Goal 8, which emphasizes inclusive and sustainable economic growth, employment, and decent work for all. Launched on October 31, 2023, the event aims to promote knowledge management as a catalyst for policy dialogue, efficient planning, and implementation.
Hon. Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, CEO of NEIP, expressed enthusiasm about the long-term impact of GSW on Ghana’s economy and the future of startups. The President of AGS, Mr. Solomon Adjei, underscored the importance of creating an enabling environment for startups to scale beyond Ghana’s borders.

- Thursday: Ghana Startup Ecosystem Summit (In-person at Accra Digital Center, 9 am – 5 pm)

Ghana Innovation and Startup Awards:
A highlight of GSW2023, the Ghana Innovation and Startup Awards, aims to recognize outstanding achievements in various sectors, including Fintech, E-commerce, E-health, IP/BPO, and Agritech. The top-winning package includes a sponsored trip to South Africa. The Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, National Youth Authority, Ghana Digital Centres Ltd, and other key partners will collaborate to make this event a success.
