BONO EAST REGION

On the 10th of March 2022, between the hours of 9:00 am and 2:00 pm, Agrico Hub in partnership with GIZ, organized a stakeholder dialogue at ENCOM Hotel, Techman. The theme of the meeting was Promoting Digital Transformation through Multi-Stakeholder Engagement.

The program hosted representatives from various organizations and institutions within the catchment of Bono East Region. These representatives were from thirteen organizations and institutions in the region. It was packed with activities and it got everyone contributing and fully participating. The CEO of Agrico Hub, George Antwi-Boasiako opened the floor discussion after he had officially welcomed everyone.

There was a brief introduction by all present after which Mr. Benson Agyei, the Technical Advisor to Digital Transformation Center (DTC) Bono East, addressed the house stressing the need for digital inclusion and his Organization’s readiness to support and see to the fruition of this project. He indicated that his outfit is committed to liaising with GIFEC to revamp some selected Community ICT Centers (CICs) in the region that play a key role in the digital inclusion agenda. He called on the stakeholders to encourage people in the communities to patronize the services of the CIC’s to make them more functional.

GIZs Development Worker, Mr. Nicholas Mann took a turn to reiterated all that Mr. Benson had said. There was discussion into the pertinent issues that can help revamp digitalization in the Bono East Region. Everyone present had the opportunity to share with the house the main activities of their institution or organization, their needs, and the challenges they face.

The last of the activities was, the house was put into a group of three and each was tasked to brainstorm and come up with a project that will enhance digital inclusion in all sectors in the region. The groups were Enterprise Support Organizations, Civil Society Organizations, and Public institutions.

The groups did a fantastic job and each one of them appointed a member to present to the entire house the project they had chosen. The meeting came to a close around 2:15 pm and it was educative and productive throughout.
