HapaSpace organized an Economic Right and Advocacy training as part of the Engage! Invest! Grow! Campaign.
HapaSpace on the 10th of September, 2021 organized an Economic Right and Advocacy training as part of the Engage! Invest! Grow! Campaign.
The aim of the program was to educate women and vulnerable youth on their basic economic rights and equip them with business development skills. The 2-hour interactive session brought together youth from diverse business backgrounds.
The first part of the program focused on economic rights; what it means, examples of economic rights as well as institutions set up nationally to ensure that as Ghanaians we ensure these rights.
The bone of contention was how effective these Institutions have been in ensuring that the right environment is created for citizens to enjoy these rights.
The general consensus was that in as much as these institutions are doing a lot, there is room for improvement especially if we are to achieve equality and inclusion. Empower! Invest! Grow! The campaign is a Reach for Change Africa together with Social Enterprise Ghana initiative aimed at driving real change on the ground and collaborating with stakeholders to act now by channeling resources, tools, and support for youth and women-owned businesses.
We ended the program with a business development training on the lean approach. Participants were taken through the various blocks in the Lean Model Canvas. Among other things, the purpose of the event, which is the first part of a 3-part series, was to set the stage for duty bearer engagement in the subsequent session.
