MEST Africa and EyeCity Consortium in partnership with the Ghana Hubs Network to embark on Training webinars for enterprises and startups in Ghana

The MEST Africa and EyeCity Consortium in partnership with the Ghana Hubs Network are hosting a capacity-building webinar series for Enterprises/Startups in Ghana from 22-25th November, 20121 on Zoom. This training webinar series is part of the Enterprise Support and Business Development Services project in Ghana supported and funded by the African Development Bank Group, AfDB Innovation, and Entrepreneurship Lab, and the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO). 

The webinar series will provide needs-based capacity building to enterprises/startups in fundraising and investment, marketing and branding, customer management/sales and business development, clarity on business ideation and business model, team building and leadership, proposal writing, and presentation. Curricula have been designed and developed based on key findings from the nationwide ecosystem needs and market assessments conducted earlier in the year. The findings have indicated the specific business and enterprise support needs of the Ghanaian enterprise/entrepreneurship ecosystem across the 16 regions and for the five targeted sectors of Agriculture, Commerce, Education, Finance, and Health. The webinars will be conducted virtually, leveraging existing partnerships and key industry experts. 

There was an initial Trainer-of-Trainers (ToT) session on 11th November 2021 to provide training to at least 30 ESOs and equip them with the required knowledge and experience to subsequently co-facilitate the sector-led webinar sessions for 100+ enterprises and startups. The capacity-building webinars for enterprises/startups will be held over a 5-day period with a focus on the five targeted sectors (Agriculture, Finance, Commerce, Education, and Health). Best-in-class resources have been developed with a focus on enabling job creation and empowering entrepreneurship/enterprise ecosystems based on the specific needs and constraints adduced by the ESOs and other stakeholders from the sector deep-dive diagnostic study. 

The Agricultural sector webinar will be moderated by Augustine Akrofi Ansah, an Agribusiness/Monitoring and Evaluation Expert, while the commerce sector webinar will be moderated by Leah Lee from Growth Africa. George Adjebeng from INNOV8 hub will moderate the financial sector, while the education and health sectors will be moderated by Michelle Mckenzie and Em Ekong from Urban inclusion.
