BarCamp Kasoa 2025 is on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at West End University College, Kasoa from 9am-4pm. This free networking forum is themed: Impact | Innovation | Quality. This Barcamp event is part of the Barcamp Ghana program run by the GhanaThink Foundation, a social enterprise based both in Ghana and the USA. This follows 130+ of such events all over Ghana, building a network of changemakers, doers and entrepreneurs. This event would have engaging sessions, insightful mentorship, and meaningful connections with fellow participants.

Esther Danso started volunteering with GhanaThink’s Kasoa team in 2021, as part of the logistics team. She stated: “That experience opened my eyes to the world of event logistics from planning, coordination, and communication to making sure everything runs smoothly on the ground. It wasn’t just about managing resources; it was about learning teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving in real time”. Through volunteering, various volunteers for Barcamp local teams around Ghana (including #bckasoa) get the opportunity to meet great personalities, mentors, and professionals from different industries. For Esther, those interactions helped her expand her network and confidence, shaping how she approaches both leadership and collaboration.
In 2023, Esther Danso transitioned from a logistics volunteer to becoming the #bckasoa Logistics Lead and she has become the Team Lead/Coordinator for Barcamp Kasoa and Kasoa Konnect (the community borne out of GhanaThink activities in Kasoa. She mentioned: “Each stage came with new lessons and managing diverse teams, working with partners, and creating spaces where young people could learn, connect, and grow. Meeting entrepreneurs, CEOs, and change makers across different Barcamps has been a huge source of inspiration for me”.
Barcamp Kasoa 2025 is more than just an event, it’s a community of passionate individuals shaping ideas into impact. Esther has been leading fundraising and partnership for Barcamp Kasoa. For Barcamp Kasoa 2025, the partners include – Achieve by Petra, Clean Air Fund, Africa’s Talking, Global Open Initiative Foundation, West End University College, Baobab Entrepreneur, Apatase Bar, etc. They would be running some breakout sessions on topics around #CleanAirGhana solutions, youth empowerment, hospitality and tourism, etc. Isaac Mawuli was at his first Barcamp in Sunyani around 2019, starting out as a volunteer on the logistics team. He is the Logistics Lead for Barcamp Kasoa 2025. His volunteering experience with GhanaThink has also helped him grow in managing pressure and collaborating effectively in a team environment.
Joseph Otsibah became the Marketing Lead for #bckasoa in 2024. He describes Barcamp Kasoa as a power-packed program that connected young entrepreneurs with experienced mentors. HIs role allowed him to gain hands-on experience in event coordination and promotion. About #bckasoa2024, he said: My experience was instrumental in shaping my vision for fostering a better world through entrepreneurship and technology. Barcamp Kasoa 2025 would also feature personality interviews – the Konnect Kouch – birthed through GhanaThink’s Konnect Whatsapp Groups.
Sarah Aidoo participated in her first Barcamp in 2023, in Kasoa. She also had joined to volunteer as part of the Resources team. They scout for resource persons and mentors who could share their expertise and inspire participants. Barcamps feature speed mentoring sessions where mentors from diverse industries will give insights and answers to questions from participants. These mentors are REAL people thriving in their careers. REAL stands for Resourceful, Experienced and Accomplished with a proven record of great Leadership skills and impact. For Sarah, the experience in 2023 was invaluable, and she was thrilled to continue her involvement to date.
The event serves as a launchpad for new ventures and collaborations, moving beyond theoretical discussions to produce real-world results. It hopes to serve as a significant driver for innovation and positive change in the Greater Kasoa community – Awutu Senya East, Awutu Senya West, etc. Barcamps have a positive impact on Kasoa by fostering a community of changemakers, entrepreneurs, and innovators through learning, sharing, networking, and mentorship. Its free platform has connected individuals, showcased local talent, and addressed community issues. Previous Barcamps have successfully helped individuals achieve significant career milestones, such as the success story of Jennifer Efua Afful who went on to manage a large region for a major company.
For Barcamp Kasoa 2025, Esther’s expectations are high. In an interview with Baobab Entrepreneur, she stated: “I’m looking forward to seeing more youth participation, stronger collaborations with local organizations, and impactful sessions that inspire action and innovation. Above all, I hope this year’s Barcamp continues to empower young people to explore opportunities, build valuable connections, and make lasting change in our community.
Barcamp has truly been a journey of growth, learning, and leadership and I’m still learning every step of the way”
Joseph Otsibah added his expectations in the same interview. “Building on the successes of the previous year, my expectations for Barcamp Kasoa 2025 are exceptionally high. The theme for this year –Impact | Innovation | Quality– resonates deeply with my personal and professional aspirations. Isaac Mawuli took it a step further: “As I do with every Barcamp, I plan to find a mentor and pick up one or two new lessons that will help me grow in knowledge and skill and Barcamp Kasoa always provides that in one space. I also look forward to networking with industry personalities from Petra for my investment plans, Africa’s Talking for my side hustle, Clean Air Fund for advocacy collaborations, and Apatase Bar for their amazing snacks”.
