Barcamp Tamale 2023 is a free networking forum bringing people together for a day of learning, sharing, networking and mentoring. It is happening on July 29 at the Tamale Sports Stadium, Tamale. The theme is “Finance, Quality and Innovation”. Nashiru M. Muntasir, the long-time Coordinator for Barcamp Tamale stated: “I anticipate so much learning and quality networking opportunities at Barcamp Tamale I 2023 with the youthful group of participants attending and the line up of experienced mentors that the event has to offer”.

Barcamp Tamale is organized primarily by the GhanaThink Foundation, an organization based both in Ghana and the USA, which has successfully organized 119 BarCamps in Ghana, as part of the program. BarCamp Tamale 2023 will be a showcase of leaders, entrepreneurs and innovators in the Northern region. Discussions will center on empowering the youth for better development across all sectors. It will be an event for many people who live and are interested in Tamale to learn, share and network. This 10th Barcamp in Tamale would focus on empowering people so that we can be more productive as individuals and as a nation.

The Barcamp will feature networking and discussions around topics relevant to the Northern Region and beyond. It is also to celebrate some of the best of our community and beyond. It facilitates networking with like-minded individuals – you could find your business or project partner. This event has impacted several youth in and around Tamale since 2011. Rajaa Issah, who is volunteering with the #bctamale team, stated: “Barcamp Tamale has widened my network and connected me to a lot of professionals who inspired me and I can call my mentors. The Tamale Konnect page which is born out of Barcamp Tamale is a page where I learn from random discussions on sensitive issues affecting us and also learn about what’s going on in Tamale, important events as well as wonderful opportunities”.

There will be a speed mentoring session where mentors will give insights and answers to questions from attendees. Some of our confirmed mentors include Yakubu A. Zakaria, Cecilia Amoafowaa Sefa, Marvin Akyea, Frederick Nuri-Teg, Leatrice Naa Kwarley Richardson, Michael Atengdem, Senyo Kpelly, George Akubia, Kofi Larbi, Samira Assabey Musah, Frederick Nantogmah, Jacob Yawson, Courage Kosi Setsoafia Saba (Ph.D), Arnold Mashud (Ph.D), Dr Daniel Gyamfi, Dr. Felicia Memunatu Sheini, Maccharty Mac-Gbathy, Gabriel Timbillah, Joshua Wuntimah Salifu (Ph.D), Peter Awin, Abdul Hayi Moomen, Alima Bawah, Dr. Kennedy Kubuga, Festus Darko-Preko, Albert Owusu-Boateng, Abdul-Mumin Yussif, Francis Saa Dittoh, Linda Coffie, Ibrahim Mahama, Ibrahim Yunus, Hairiya Bala, Rhoda Wedam, Khadijah Abdul-Samed, Martha Anabila, Fadila Fuseini, Millicent Anaab, Peter Kwadwo Asare Nyarko, Jonathan Kojo, Festus Darko-Preko, Freda Karbo, etc – all featured on our Barcamp Tamale Facebook page.
