INVEST in Her Scholarship Program Graduates 203 Trainees in One-Week Entrepreneurship Training
As the first cohort in the INVEST in Her scholarship program is coming to a close, the trainees from the program were invited to participate in a one-week intensive entrepreneurship training to sponsor their transition into the world of work. A total of 203 graduate trainees have participated in this training across the project areas.
The INVEST in Her Scholarship Program was launched in 2019 by the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development to empower young Nigerian women with skills and knowledge needed to excel in their chosen fields. The program provides scholarships to young women in STEM fields, healthcare, agriculture, and creative industries.
The one-week entrepreneurship training was designed to equip the trainees with the practical skills and knowledge they need to launch and run their own businesses. The training covered a range of topics, including business planning, financial management, marketing, sales, and customer service.
Speaking about the training, the Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Sadiya Farouq, said, “We are delighted to see the progress that our INVEST in Her scholarship program trainees have made over the past year. We are confident that the entrepreneurship training they have received will help them to build successful businesses and contribute to the economic development of Nigeria.”
