JANAT ISSIFU of WAN-Hive Ghana has been nominated in the Young Entrepreneur Awards 2021 (YEA) as the Bono Region Entrepreneur of the year.
In recent times, Janat Issifu has raised the bar for female inclusion in the Bono Region by supporting young women to achieve excellence in all professional and social fields through her organization’s capacity development programs.
Janat Issifu is an industrious social entrepreneur, a mentor, and an extremely passionate gender advocate.
She is the Founder and Leader of WAN-Hive Ghana, a female-led Innovation space supporting young women to build careers in entrepreneurship, technology, agriculture, and leadership.
WAN-Hive Ghana supports young women and girls with Self-development tools; training and capacity development, Access to female-led business Innovation, Startup Incubation and Acceleration, Branding for female-led enterprises, Advocacy for vulnerable women, and youth, Business and Leadership Conference and sustainable Mentorship.
Janat Issifu holds a Bachelors Degree in Resource Enterprise and Entrepreneurship from the University of Energy and
Natural Resources, Ghana. She is a certified Startup development trainer from SEED and a coach for the GIZ-funded WIDU. Africa project which seeks to create sustainable investments for startups and small businesses in Ghana.
With her knowledge in entrepreneurship and business management, she has assisted many young women to establish, manage and grow their own small business ventures.
In 2020, she received an award from the Kenyan High Commissioner, as one of the 20 young women in Africa contributing to women empowerment in Africa through the All African Students Union (AASU).
