STEMAIDE Ignites Ghana’s Innovation Future at GDIW 2025
Date: November 15, 2025
Over 60 Young Innovators Build AI & Robotics Solutions in First-Ever Hack STEMAIDE Challenge
Accra, Ghana – In a landmark moment for Ghana’s digital future, STEMAIDE has successfully hosted its first-ever Hack STEMAIDE AI & STEM Hackathon on Thursday, 13th November, during the 2025 Ghana Digital Innovation Week (GDIW). Held at the Accra International Conference Centre, the event brought together more than 60 emerging innovators, forming 8 highly motivated teams, tasked with building real-world AI and robotics solutions powered by the STEMAIDE Learning Kit.
With the bold theme “AI for Impact: Local Problems, Smart Solutions,” the hackathon became an electrifying hub of creativity, determination, and possibility. Participants ranged from senior high school students, university students and recent graduates to robotics enthusiasts and young professionals – all united by a shared mission: to build technologies that solve Ghana’s real problems.
Within just one hour, the teams built fully functioning prototypes addressing challenges in agriculture, energy efficiency, public safety, accessibility, and smart city development. The atmosphere was electric – filled with rapid brainstorming, hands-on experimentation, and remarkable teamwork. Guests and observers were captivated by the raw talent and ingenuity on display.

Why Hack STEMAIDE Matters
For the first time in GDIW’s history, a fully hands-on, fast-paced, problem-solving hackathon took center stage. Instead of showcasing technology, STEMAIDE challenged young Ghanaians to build it.
“Hack STEMAIDE is more than a competition, it’s a catalyst for job creation, a pipeline for young inventors, and a national platform for homegrown innovation,”
— Prince Boateng Asare, CEO, STEMAIDE Africa
“We wanted to prove that Ghanaian youth can build real technology solutions when given the tools. Innovation must be homegrown, and today’s results show that Ghana is ready,”
— Adoma Nyarko, Head of Marketing & Business Development

A Vision for the Future: Hack STEMAIDE Nationwide Roadshow (2026)
Building on the success of GDIW 2025, STEMAIDE will launch a nationwide series of AI, Robotics, and IoT hackathons across all regions in 2026. Regional winners will advance to the Flagship Hack STEMAIDE at GDIW 2026.
The goal is to:
Build a pipeline of future-ready innovators and job creators
Strengthen Ghana’s capacity in robotics, AI, and digital manufacturing
Position young innovators to scale prototypes into real startups and micro-enterprises
Ensure that Ghana’s youth are prepared for the future of work, not just the present
“Innovation begins with a single spark. Hack STEMAIDE provides the platform for that spark to become a flame.”
— Bennistar K.K. Cobbah, Community Engagement Lead
