“Don’t just use social media, take advantage of it to make money”-entrepreneur to youth

A social entrepreneur and Chief Executive Officer for WAN-HIVE Ghana, Ms. Jannat Issifu has advised Ahafo Youth to take advantage of business opportunities in social media usage to make money. She was speaking at the Ahafo Unleash Technology Program organized by Y & S professional Institute, Baobab, and their partners.

The Ahafo Unleash Technology was a free event that included digital and Entrepreneurial training skills that equipped participants to create their own jobs and trained many others in the technological space.

Y&S Professional Institute aims at creating awareness in technology, digital skills, and entrepreneurship. 

In addition, the event seeks to provide young people with the knowledge, skills, and motivation to encourage technology and entrepreneurial success amongst the Youth in Ahafo and to also encourage them to take up Technology and entrepreneurship as a solution to unemployment.

Speaking at the event on the topic “Digital Marketing”, Ms. Jannat emphasized that there are more business functions to the various social mediums than just chatting and posting pictures hence urging you to use them in their businesses.

“Social media now has more business options which you can use to advertise your business, now with social media, you do not need a huge capital to start up a business, you just need a smartphone and a data and you are good to go” she stressed.

The WAN-HIVE Ghana CEO used the opportunity to train the youth on the various fictions on social media which they can use to make money.

“ Now the government payroll is full as announced by the finance minister, don’t wait to be employed you will never be, use social media to make money”, she added.

Ms. Jannat further called on the youth to take advantage of entrepreneurship to become independent.

“You can never be independent whiles working for pay, try to also work to pay others. Set up small ventures and gradually improve on them and trust me, you will become big business moguls. It is just a matter of time, perseverance, and hard work”, she stressed.
