Barcamp Ho 2025 is set to energize the Volta Region once again with a dynamic gathering of changemakers, innovators, and youth leaders committed to driving positive change. Barcamps provide a rare and valuable common ground, a space where students, professionals, creatives, and entrepreneurs can connect, share, and grow. Powered by the GhanaThink Foundation, a network of change-makers, doers, and entrepreneurs is being built through this free networking forum. It happens on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at the UHAS Trafalgar Auditorium, Ho from 9am-3:30pm. This free networking forum is themed around: Impact | Innovation | Quality.  If you’re ready to explore opportunities, grow your network, and contribute to the future of Ho and beyond, this is where your journey begins.  Participate to learn, share, network, konnect and be mentored.

Patrick Keli Atitsogbui is the Barcamp Ghana Marketing Lead. He mentioned to a Baobab Entrepreneur: “We are highlighting Impact, Innovation, and Quality this year because they reflect the kind of intentional growth we want to see among young Ghanaians today. It’s not just about doing more, but doing it uniquely, doing it better, and doing it with purpose. Impact means making a real difference, innovation challenges us to think outside the box, and quality ensures that our work holds long-term value. The #KonnectKouch at Barcamp Ho 2025 would offer a reflective and motivational space for participants— sparking discussions around impact, innovation, and quality.

After volunteering with GhanaThink’s Ho team, Basil Kwame Gadawusu currently leads the Barcamp Ho 2025 team, as well as HoCity Konnect meetups.  He stated: “Barcamps have been a transformative part of my personal and community development journey. They’ve given me the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with fellow change-makers in my community and across Ghana. Every Barcamp I’ve participated in has deepened my understanding of leadership, civic engagement, innovation, and the power of collaboration”.

Hilda Adika has had the privilege of participating in 7+ Barcamps throughout Ghana (including Tamale, Tema, Koforidua and Kumasi), all being profoundly enriching experiences. Her first barcamp was Barcamp Ho 2017. She mentioned, “My first Barcamp was the deal breaker where I was helped by a new acquaintance to get a Twitter account. “These events have provided me with life-changing moments that have significantly influenced my perspective and personal growth”. Eugenia Esenam Gamed participated in Barcamp Ho in both 2023 and 2024, and stated: “Honestly, each one left a mark on me. I met people I wouldn’t have crossed paths with otherwise — mentors, peers, and professionals who were open, real, and willing to pour into others. The conversations I had during speed mentoring alone gave me clarity I didn’t even know I needed”.

The Barcamp will feature breakout sessions about various topics organized by the partners, many of whom are local. Basil Kwame Gadawusu leads engagement with these partners: Nojo Group, Nojo Farms, Clean Air Fund, UHAS SRC, Node Eight, DEECOM Nutrifoods (Soysages), Promasidor, SN Trade Hub, RAF Properties, TBSS GH, etc. . He stated: “Through these Barcamps, I’ve come to realize that almost every mover and shaker from Ho, and even across the country, has, at some point, passed through a Barcamp. It’s humbling and exciting to know that I share this experience with so many trailblazers. It’s also inspiring to experience it alongside the upcoming generation of changemakers who are just beginning their journey”.

Basil further explained: I’ve had the chance to meet and engage with people I wouldn’t ordinarily cross paths with, and those moments have led to mentorship, collaboration, and fresh perspectives. Hilda chimed in: “I have had the opportunity to interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and ideologies, and sample a wide array of local cuisine”. Eugenia added: “What I love most is that Barcamp doesn’t feel like just another event. It feels like a space where people show up as they are, with a genuine desire to grow and help others grow too”.

For Barcamp Ho 2025, Basil is looking forward to another opportunity to connect with passionate people, share ideas, and contribute to meaningful conversations that shape the future of our region. He is especially excited to see how the event will spotlight local talent, amplify youth voices, and inspire action that goes beyond the day itself. Eugenia Gamed (Lead Resources Volunteer) is hoping for good conversations, real connections, and the “kind of energy that reminds you that you’re not doing life alone”. She looks forward to showing up, learning, and giving back in whatever way I can. Hilda Adika (#bcho Logistics Lead) ended the interview with Baobab Entrepreneur by stating: “As I look forward to this event, my expectations remain consistent: to establish new connections, foster networking opportunities, create business prospects, and form meaningful friendships with like-minded individuals”.
