WAN-Hive Ghana Launches the Women in Business Accelerator (WiBA) Program in partnership with NEIP
On August 18, 2023 WAN-HIVE GHANA, a leading women innovation Hub launched its maiden Women in Business Accelerator (WiBA) program in partnership with the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program with support from World Bank and Ministry of Finance, Ghana. The event, held on Friday, saw over 100 attendees, including 25 promising startups that have been selected to participate in the program.
The CEO of WAN-HIVE GHANA, Ms. Janat Issifu, kicked off the program by extending a warm welcome to all attendees, emphasizing the numerous benefits that the WiBA program would provide to the selected startups. With tailored business development support, funding opportunities, expert mentorship, access to office space and equipment, investment prospects, and strategic networking events, the program aims to empower these women-led businesses to thrive in their respective industries. Speaking at the launch, Ms. Janat Issifu expressed her excitement about the potential impact of the WiBA program.
The launch program was graced by a delegation from the Food and Drug Authority (FDA), which holds particular significance for startups involved in food production, National Youth Authority, Reps from the media and other stakeholders. The representatives expressed their commitment to supporting these ventures in any way possible, ensuring that they meet regulatory requirements and grow their businesses sustainably.
One of the highlights of the program was the exhibition of the startup products to the attendees. This showcase not only provided valuable exposure for the entrepreneurs but also served as a promising start to their WiBA journey. The enthusiasm and energy in the room were palpable, as the startups eagerly shared their innovative ideas and unique offerings with potential customers and partners.
