Join a network of change-makers, doers, and entrepreneurs at #BarcampSunyani 2025 on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at the Sunyani Technical University Auditorium from 9am-4pm.

Stephen Harmony Asampana has been leading GhanaThink’s Sunyani team post-covid. In an interview with Baobab Entrepreneur, he mentioned: “Participating in my 1st Barcamp years ago was a major turning point in my life. It shaped my ability to lead, communicate effectively, and inspire others. Today, I proudly fundraise, coordinate, and lead a team of incredibly intelligent individuals; all thanks to the exposure and training I gained through Barcamps in Ghana”. He added: “Even my emailing skills and professional etiquette have improved significantly because of my involvement in these dynamic spaces”.
Nasaara Elijah Ayeebo stated: “Barcamp Ghana has been one of the most transformative platforms in my personal and professional journey. Over the years, it has helped shape my leadership skills, expanded my network, and deepened my sense of purpose in contributing to my community. Meeting and learning from like-minded individuals and experienced mentors at Barcamp has kept me inspired and motivated to take action in various areas of my life.” The impact on GhanaThink members from a personal development perspective is massive. Elijah added: “Serving as the Logistics Lead for Barcamp Sunyani has been particularly impactful in shaping my career. This role has sharpened my planning, coordination, and problem-solving skills, qualities that are crucial in any professional setting. It has taught me how to work under pressure, manage resources, and lead teams effectively. The experience of liaising with vendors, securing venues, and ensuring smooth execution of event activities has built my capacity in project management and logistics, which are now key strengths I apply in both my professional and personal life”.
Owura Oduro Owurani first participated in Barcamp Koforidua, and that experience turned out to be a meaningful turning point for him. He said: “What began as simple attendance/participation led to a deeper commitment, I later became part of the marketing team as a volunteer”. He added: “After moving to Sunyani, I participated in Barcamp Sunyani. Since the 2023 edition, I have been volunteering with the team and currently serve as the Marketing Lead. It’s been a fulfilling way to contribute, connect, and grow alongside like-minded individuals”. Barcamps in Ghana have open and interactive sessions, where Barcampers gain valuable insights on personal development, entrepreneurship, and community service. Barcamps across Ghana offer a rich and inclusive learning experience. Each event is unique, yet all are grounded in a spirit of volunteerism, mentorship, collaboration, and innovation.
These free networking forums bring together diverse talents, ideas, and solutions that empower young people to take charge of their future, especially local businesses. The Barcamp Sunyani 2025 partners include Clean Air Fund, Sunyani Technical University SRC, Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana (PPAG), Innovisionak 30 Ventures, WAN-Hive Ghana, #AB3Media, #PleasantPastries, Baobab Entrepreneur, Eusbett Hotel, Kofi Vinyo Company Limited, #DATPhotoStudio, Green Leaf Eatery, InspiNest, #SannakHotel, etc.
The speed mentoring sessions have provided tailored advice and support from mentors across various fields. This has guided the personal development of several youth in Ghana, and strengthened the commitment for them to make a difference in their communities. Owura mentioned: “As a primary health practitioner with a passion for community services, I am always drawn to opportunities that allow for real growth and connection. Barcamp has helped me do just that. Over the years, participating in these events has allowed me to grow my professional network in ways that matter. In today’s world, I see networking as one of the most valuable currencies and Barcamp makes that accessible”.
According to Stephen: “Barcamps in Ghana are more than just events; they are life-changing platforms for growth, grooming, and igniting powerful ideas! Barcamp Sunyani 2025 promises to be even bigger and better, and I can’t wait to meet new people, spark new ideas, and build lasting connections, because network is the new currency”. Elijah’s expectations are high. He mentioned: “I look forward to learning something new, building new connections, and discovering new ways I can make a meaningful impact. I’m particularly excited about the theme and how it will address the current needs of young people. I believe this year’s event will not only be impactful but also a renewed call to action for all of us”.
Owura ended the interview with Baobab Entrepreneur by saying: “I encourage students, apprentices, young professionals, entrepreneurs, innovators, and anyone with a curious mindset to participate in Barcamp Sunyani 2025. Whether you’re looking to learn, connect, or take the next step in your journey, Barcamp offers the space to grow.
